Arthur H.W. Williams (ON LEAVE)

Arthur Williams is both an Attorney-at-Law and a Government Senator.

He received his tertiary education at the University of the West Indies.  He completed his First Degree – a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Government -  then a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) and also obtained a Certificate in Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School . He has been a practicing Attorney-at-Law since October 1978.

He was an Opposition Senator between 2002 and 2007, and since September 2007, a Government Senator and the Minister of State in the Ministry of National Security.

He has been a member of Kiwanis International and lists his hobbies as travelling and meeting people.

 

Ronald J. Young   

Ronald Young received a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of the West Indies in 1999 and a Certificate in Legal Education from the Norman Manley Law School in 2001. Prior to obtaining his law degree, Ronald attained a Bachelor of Arts Degree (B.A), with First Class Honours, from the University of the West Indies, Mona Campus.

As an Attorney-at-Law, Ronald spent four years employed to the law firm of Myers, Fletcher & Gordon, where he became a senior Associate in the Commercial Department, with emphasis on intellectual property law, entertainment law, telecommunications law and commercial contracts.

Between October 2005 and March 2008, Ronald was employed to Cable & Wireless Jamaica Limited as legal advisor in the Legal, Regulatory and Public Policy Division.

Ronald has several years of experience in the entertainment industry, having focused on artiste management and development as well as event management and production, prior to entering into the legal profession.

He has served as secretary of the Bar Associations Intellectual Property Law Committee, and has been legal advisor to the Jamaica YMCA and the Jamaica Business Development Centre.

Ronald is presently Deputy Chairman of the Jamaica Anti-Piracy Alliance (JAPA).
